ABOUT
The Big Tea Cosy is about coming together over a cup of tea and raising money for a good cause. By raising funds for Elizabeth Finn Care you will enable us to support more people in the UK and Ireland who are living in poverty.
Who does Elizabeth Finn Care help? Elizabeth Finn Care assists people who have contributed professionally to society and now need help themselves. Our individual packages of financial support reduce the vulnerability and isolation of the people we help, allowing them greater control over their lives.
Why a Tea Party? In 1897 Elizabeth Finn founded the Distressed Gentlefolk's Aid Association over cups of tea in the drawing room of her house in Hammersmith. 'Drawing Room Meetings' continued to be a mainstay of the charity's fundraising for over 50 years. We want you to help us to celebrate our 112th anniversary with tea parties up and down the country. Our name has changed, but a cup of tea is still a great way of getting together to raise funds for Elizabeth Finn Care.
What kind of Tea Cosy can I hold? Your Big Tea Cosy can be elegant, cosy, simple; in a drawing room or kitchen, at home, in a church hall, at work or school, hotel or café; big or small, invite a crowd or just have tea for two. Whatever you do for the Big Tea Cosy will help to raise vital funds for our work in relieving poverty and the isolation this brings.
